About Sue Williams
Susan S. Williams “Sue” has been a licensed Virginia attorney since 1974 and a certified mediator since 1998. She has B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Cambridge, England, an L.L.M. from the University of Virginia, and an M.B. A. from Va Tech. She is part of the Fredericksburg Area Collaborative Professionals and affiliated with the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals - men and women throughout the world committed to resolving disputes in ways that promote respect, privacy and the well-being of children and other affected parties.
Through many years of practicing law in the traditional adversarial manner and seeing the impact that all that hostility had on my clients and their children, I felt that there had to be a better way. I took the necessary training to become a Certified Mediator and fully accredited in Collaborative Practice, while continuing to maintain a litigation practice.
Since most adversarial cases ultimately settle out of court, I will normally encourage clients to try one of those out of court dispute resolution methods first as they have a high success rate even in difficult situations.
But every client brings his or her own set of concerns, so together we will discuss those concerns and make a decision as to which process is best suited for the client’s objectives.
To make an appointment to discuss your case, give me a call at (540) 775-9710 or send me an email.
